If you haven't noticed, I've implemented a survey about the 2014 reunion in Washington D.C.  If you're thinking about coming to the reunion, please take a few minutes to fill out the information in the survey.  You are not actually registering for the reunion when you fill out the survey.  The information is used by the reunion committee to better plan and prepare.  You can access the survey on the 2014 Reunion Attendance Survey page.

Planning for the 2014 DDG-5 Reunion in Washington DC is continuing.  The Sheraton Crystal City Hotel has been contracted as the official hosting hotel.  A very tentative schedule has been complied.  You can find more information about the reunion on the 2014 Reunion page as well as a survey to fill out.

Last I heard he lived outside of Sedalia Missouri. anyone else have better info?

I'm talking to myself again; checked my profile and apparently there is no real name indicator as to who I actually am, mystery man is no name for a man my age so herewith a few identifying particulars:

Rank on departure: BM3 (BM2 coming, but that's another story)
After CVR: One final hitch in the Navy (Vietnam; Incountry, non-rotated LST: Brown water Navy, then Minesweepers in Charleston.)
Left the Navy in '71, thirty-five years as a long haul trucker then the last eight or so as junior management (Executive Director of the coffee mess).

There are some familiar names I would've liked to put faces to, like TJ Connors, who picked me up at the brig after I tried to short cycle an Italian's breathing, Ketteringham who I can't put a face to but the name rings alarm bells, Miller was another junior BM from 1st Div, "V" "J" who helped us defeat the Japs (I guess), Slack who did awful things to our missile battery and Zukowski (think they spelled it wrong on the Exel sheet I'm looking at) didn't we make a few memorable bus rides to NYC?
I'll be thinking of you guys this weekend but the nays overwhelmed the yays (It's an old fat guy thing, more mental than physical, but the upshot is travel is not a viable concept.) and I'm here at home for the duration.
Seems to me that the DDG-2 scenario is a worthy cause and I did go by the web site and made a donation.
You guys enjoy the weekend and remember that good sea stories NEVER begin with "Once upon a time".

If you plan on going to the 2012 reunion and have not yet sent in your reunion registration form, please do so ASAP.  If you can't send in your form now, please notify either Carl Slack, Michael Margeotes or myself that you are going to be attending.   Also indicate if you plan on going on either or both the Mayport or the St. Augustine tours.  Please include your phone number so that you can be contacted for confirmation.

Also, if you plan on staying at the Crowne Plaza Jacksonville Riverfront hotel and have not yet made your reservations, please do that ASAP by calling 1-904-398-8800.  We need to have at least 25 rooms reserved by April 1 by shipmates attending the reunion in order to take advantage of a free Jr. Suite and two room upgrades.  These will be given away at a drawing to be held after April 1, but your room MUST be reserved at the hotel by that time.
